Description of Gayatri Mantra

Rishis have selected the words of various Mantras and arranged them insuch a way that they, not only convey some meaning but their utterance also creates specific power. Gayatri is a Mantra which inspires righteous wisdom.Its meaning is that the Almighty God may illuminate our intellect which maylead us to righteous path. This is most important teaching. All the problems of a person are solved if he/she is endowed with the gift of righteous wisdom.Having endowed with far-sighted wisdom, a man is neither entangled in calamity nor does he tread a wrong path. A wise man finds solution of all outstanding problems. Only those persons find difficulty who do not know thinking correctly and take wrong steps on account of foolishness. The worship of Gayatri Mantra removes this deficiency. The teachings of and the powers incorporated in Gayatri Mantra fullfil this purpose. Righteous wisdom starts emerging no sooner Jap(recitation)  of this Mantra is performed.

Gayatri is the mother of Vedas and the destroyer of sins. There is nothing more purifying on the earth as well as in the heaven than the Gayatri. The japa of Gayatri brings the same fruit as the recitation of all the four vedas together with Angas. This single mantra repeated three times a day brings Kalyana and Moksha. It is the supreme mantra of Vedas, which destroys all the sins. It bestows splendid Health, Beauty, strength, vigour, vitality and magnetic aura in the face.

A man can repeat Gayatri Mantra mentally in all states, even while living, sitting, walking etc. There is no sin of commission or ommission of any sort in its repeatition. One should thus perform Sandhya Vandan with this Gayatri Mantra.
