In Hinduism, Brahma is one incarnation of the Supreme Brahman and the first god in the Hindu trinity.Continuously reborn in a lotus that springs from the navel of Vishnu, the second of the three gods in the Hindu trinity, Brahma is said to have created the universe by opening his eyes. At the end of each eon, the universe ceases to exist because Brahma closes his eyes and the lotus retreats into Vishnu. A new world arises in the next eon, when a new lotus emerges from Vishnu's navel and a new Brahma is born. Three of Brahma's four heads are visible here. Shiva, the destroyer and third god in the Hindu trinity, destroyed the fifth head of Brahma.
